So! Much! Things!

Since I saw you last, Eleanor has been STABBED with NEEDLES like a BOSS. It was sort of awful because they make you hold them so that they're looking right at you when they get stuck, and she was FURIOUS and when I fed her to calm her down she went after my boob like she was mad at it. But it was also sort of awesome because then she slept for hours.

We took Eleanor on her first overnighter last weekend and I was like YAKS because I stress out about forgetting things (forgetting things With Infants is much more dire than forgetting Your Own Things) but it went off hitch-less (except for the part where we put her down prematurely and she woke up in a strange room IN THE DARK and ALONE and lost her mind. Such an angry week).

Wailing aside, we watched hockey!

And went out for brunch!

I am gonna eat those boobs later

And I ordered ALL THE CARBS!

And then today, to celebrate Joel matching to a residency in Calgary (which we are both very stoked and extremely sad about), we went to Krispy Kreme and ate all the donuts.

And the baby!

Just joking, we didn't eat the baby. Despite how plump and succulent she looks lately.

JUST JOKING, ELEANOR AND ALSO CHILD SERVICES.

I used to think it was her cheeks I'd go for first.
But now, I'm pretty sure, it's the forearms.

I highly enjoyed this post.

I wanted to recommend a book because it seems like you are really able to see things from a baby's perspective (you really get her limited understanding of things). It's called What's Going on in There? How the Brain and Mind Develop in the First Five Years of Life by Lise Eliot. I think you will find it pretty fascinating.

The Read-Aloud Handbook by Jim Trelease is another one I like. He talks about why reading to your kids is so important, all the research behind it, and gives lots of great children's book recommendations.

After my Eleanor got her first round of shots, she slept that night for eleven straight hours. I was tempted to take her back the next day for more shots.

Calgary eh?
How long is residency? In May there is a 10 k run out at Dinosaur Park, which is a world heritage site and is amazing. They open up restricted areas of the park for the 10 k'ers.
Calgary is about two hours from Brooks and Dino park is 20 minutes from my place - if you cats wanted to come I would happily make my spare bedroom ready...

Calgary is far away but I live in California so really, not THAT much farther, so here are my unfettered Congratulations!

And also, your boobs look fabulous even when you're trying to hide them behind stripes and a coffee cup. Good job, Eleanor!
